Nine holes of magical golf under the glare of the Basilisk

We love a game of mini golf, and the brand new The Hole In Wand Dalton Park is a fantastic family outing with a magical twist. From £6.99 per person, you’ll step into a wizarding world filled with ogres, unicorns and potions as you make your way around the nine-hole course. There are plenty of interactive surprises along the way and we especially loved the locally named holes, including The Penshaw Hill. The staff make the experience even more special. Caroline was brilliant, staying in character throughout, and Makenzie was completely mesmerised. Before we even started playing, we learned our wizard names, practiced some spells and even posed for a broomstick photo. At the end of the game, hand in your scorecard for a chance to earn a Hole in One badge should you be lucky enough to get a hole in one, and enjoy a magical potion drink (worth £3.49).

There’s also a café on site with great prices on coffee and cakes, plus a Little Wizard role play area that Kenzie loved. You don’t need to play golf to use the role play area, but they do ask that customers support the café. This area is only open on weekdays and during term time. This is a great option for an after school activity or weekend treat for school-age kids, but be sure to book ahead as weekends can get busy. Opening Times: Weekdays: 11am to 6pm Saturday: 10am to 7pm Sunday: 10am to 5pm Prices: From £6.99 per person Location: 113 Dalton Park, Seaham, SR7 9HU Parking: Free parking available
